All eyes will be on you when you come out wearing Tahia's favorite costume - the Hinakura. It features a unique and striking headdress that is made of various colored feathers and shells meticulously put together into the costume design. Inspired by her dancing experience, the Hinakura combines form and function by making this premier soloist costume easy to wear, balance and change in and out of with ease.

The headdress colors and costume are based on the theme chosen. It is attached in the back with velcro to allow for one size fits most.* A shower of white shell leis are hung at each side to drape across the chest.

The costume allows for some modesty as well... or not. Instead of a coconut shell bra or the like, it works perfectly with a simple solid color top and matching pareo. With the options on the hipband (hatua), you can have a custom look - matching tassel hipband, mother of pearl shells (raw) or finely finished and polished or a shower of matching white shell leis.

Creative customizations are also possible. Just let us know what you'd like and Tahia will work it out.

This costume is designed for the teenagers and women who are practiced in Tahitian dance and are looking for a costume to complement their skill level.

Optional more skirt is left uncut to allow for dancer to adjust to personal preference when fitted to comfort on hips. Skirt includes heavy duty hook and eyes secure and velcro band to attach hip band.
